For any introduction to some basic iḥsān or taṣawwuf, this is it. The book is a translation of a traditional West African poem and features a commentary from the translator. It discusses various diseases of the heart that many of us unfortunately possess. Additionally, it offers practical solutions to these problems. So the nature of the book is twofold: observing and diagnosing these conditions within ourselves, which most of us will have to varying extents at various times, and remedying them.
